Last updated 2026-08-29

Anima are the collectible creatures of Honkai: Nexus Anima, caught across the 81 Planes and deployed in formation-based auto-chess battles. Each carries an Aspect (its synergy identity), a Trait (its combat role), and four Dispositions, of which one is active at a time. Attributes shown are compiled from public closed-beta sources. Where the game has not confirmed an attribute yet, it is left out rather than guessed at.

What the roster looks like

Are 5-star

85 Anima are revealed, 82 of them with a confirmed Aspect, Trait and star rating. The other 3 (Scorscythe, Petrilog and Moneytree) are named and drawn but not yet described, so they sit out of every figure below rather than dragging an average toward a number nobody can check.

The roster is a middleweight. 4-star Anima are the largest group at 35 (42.7%), 3-star follow at 28 (34.1%), and 5-star are the scarcest at 19 (23.2%). Spread across 16 Aspects, that is 5.1 Anima per Aspect, which is why an Aspect synergy is usually the easier threshold to hit than a rarity one.

Traits are not evenly stocked. Explorer leads with 22, while Blaster and Mascot sit at 13. The gap sharpens at the top of the rarity ramp: among the 19 5-star Anima, Blaster and Explorer take 6 each, and Mascot manages just 1. If you are building around a Trait, check how many 5-star options it actually has before you plan a banner around one.

Joy has no 5-star Anima at all. That is worth watching rather than worrying about: an Aspect with a full roster and no headline unit is the shape a roster has right before one is added.

Depth per Aspect runs from 8 (Competition and Reality) down to 3 (Oblivion, Pride and Ugliness). The game pairs Aspects as opposites and the halves do not always match: Reality has 8 against Oblivion's 3, the widest split on the board, while Light/Dark and Love/Hate are dead level.

Every Anima by Aspect and Trait

Formation slots are a two-axis question, so this is the roster as a grid. Aspect down the side, Trait across the top, rarest first inside each cell. 54 of the 80 combinations have someone in them, which leaves 26 empty. Read those as unclaimed niches rather than missing data: a Beauty Blaster and a Change Explorer are units the game has not made yet, not ones we failed to record.

Every Nexus Anima with a confirmed Aspect and Trait, arranged by Aspect down the side and Trait across the top. 54 of 80 combinations have at least one unit.

Where to go next

Aspect is the closest thing this game has to an element or a clan. Fielding several Anima that share one trips a threshold and buffs the whole cluster, and the thresholds are not uniform: every breakpoint and effect is on the Aspect synergy page, and each Aspect name in the grid above links straight to its entry there.

Trait decides where a unit fights and how it earns Energy, which is what sets how often its signature skill fires. Dispositions are the axis you actually control: four per Anima, one active, listed in full on the Dispositions reference. Each Anima's own page carries its four alongside its Rapport rank ladder, so you can see what a duplicate copy buys before you chase one.

For the judgement calls, who is worth building and who plays well together, start with the tier list and draft the line-up in the formation planner.
